Current SALESPERSON license in another state (MORE than 2 years experience)

The following applies for applicants who hold a current SALESPERSON real estate license in another state WITH MORE THAN 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE (active/inactive status):

None

Exam​ ​requirements​:
Pass the STATE​ portion of the Colorado Real Estate Broker’s Exam

Additional​ ​Requirements​:
1. Fingerprints for background check
2. Certified License history from the jurisdiction you hold a license:
a. Dated within 90 days of application
b. Include disciplinary action

Qualifying License Level in Colorado:
With an out-of-state SALESPERSON license, you will be eligible for the Associate Broker level (FA credential) for your Colorado Real Estate License once you have completed all of the requirements listed above.

Current SALESPERSON license in another state (LESS than 2 years experience)

The following applies for applicants who hold a current SALESPERSON real estate license in another state WITH LESS THAN 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE:

48 hours – Colorado Contracts & Regulations
8 hours – Trust Accounts & Recordkeeping
8 hours – Current Legal Issues
24 hours – Real Estate Closings
32 hours – Practical Applications
(120 total hours required)

Exam​ ​requirements​:
Pass both NATIONAL and STATE​ portions of the Colorado Real Estate Broker’s Exam

Additional​ ​Requirements​:
1. Fingerprints for background check
2. Certified License history from the jurisdiction you hold a license:
a. Dated within 90 days of application
b. Include disciplinary action

Expired SALESPERSON license in another state

The following applies for applicants who hold an EXPIRED SALESPERSON real estate license in another state:

48 hours – Colorado Contracts & Regulations

32 hours – Practical Applications

The following applies for applicants who hold a current BROKER real estate license in another state WITH MORE THAN 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE (active/inactive status):

Pass the STATE​ portion of the Colorado Real Estate Broker’s Exam

Additional​ ​Requirements​:
1. Fingerprints for background check
2. Certified License history from the jurisdiction you hold a license:
a. Dated within 90 days of application
b. Include disciplinary action

Qualifying License Level in Colorado:
With an out-of-state BROKER license, you will be eligible for one of the following license levels once you have completed all of the requirements listed above:
1. Under 2 years active experience: Associate Broker level, FA credential.
2. Two or more years active experience: Independent Broker level or Employing Broker level.*
*The Employing Broker level requires that you also complete the 24 hour Brokerage Administration course (click here to learn more)

Current BROKER license in another state (LESS than 2 years experience)

The following applies for applicants who hold a current BROKER real estate license in another state WITH LESS THAN 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE:

(72 total hours required)
